The Happiest Place on Earth

February arrived and we flew away to Cali! We were all so excited to get away from the freezing temps here. It was a bit cool there and rained one of the days but any bit of sunshine made us all happy!  It was great to get us all outside and be able to let the kiddies run around!  We flew into Long Beach airport, the kids were fantastic on the flight! Jett was anticipating his flight and couldn't wait to board the plane...
He loved having the “window seat” and spotting things down below! Shelby enjoyed all the people and peeking through the seat cracks to get their attention. Aaron listened to his headphones and kept us content with grabbing extra snacks as the flight attendants walked by!  The highlight of the trip was cruising around in our rented white mini van, Jett thought it was so cool and the double sliding doors were his favorite. We enjoyed our excellent stay in our suite @ Ayres in Diamond Bar. We ate out @ lots of yummy places BJ’s, Tortilla Joes, DL foodstands are a must, and hit up Chipotle a few times too! We loved hanging out with the Burnsides and appreciated Becca being our tour guide around town and especially @ Disneyland with all the peop. We spent 3 fun-filled days @ DL and Jett was in awe with Carsland of course. It was crazy how much it looked just like the movies and he was mesmerized seeing the characters life-size.
We loved eating @ Flo’s V8 CafĂ©!
however the gigantic chocolate dipped ice cream cones across the road were to die for! (You know they’re tasty if I say so cause of my addiction with delicious desserts is insane!)
The Radiator Springs Racer cars ride was on the top of my list. The desert scenery was sweet, however our racer went way to fast for Jett once the race officially began!
You should have seen the look on his little face as our car revved around the speedy turns and hills! Yippeeeeeee!  Luigi’s flying tires was super fun sliding and gliding into each other and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree was a riot! Tipping the tractors was great! Jett was so proud to meet the height requirements and be tall enough to ride on all the rides he wanted to go on! Shelby on the otherhand loved strolling around, people-watching (like her auntie Tasha), and shouting out, “MICK-EEEE, and PRINCESS!” She also was excited to spend time with her sidekick Ezra...
Of course we couldn't pass up the massive size Mickey cookies...
The crowds were not too bad and the waiting in lines went swiftly! Jett still has an obsession with trains and was stoked to go on the Jr. Circus train. It was a fun little ride where you sat in little animal seats or cages and went around a miniature village.
The next train ride we jumped on was the DL Railroad, a bit bigger version that toured us around the whole park. Then there was Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train which was the giant caterpillar we jumped aboard to go on a for a sweet ride through his meals, including a carrot, watermelon and animal crackers! Sure was neat to see the movie It’s tough to be a bug in the theatre there though some of the surprises made the kids a wee bit scared! We loved the Ghirardelli's banana split ice cream sundaes!!
Ariel’s Undersea Adventure was a hit! I remember The Little Mermaid being one of my all-time favorite movies growing up! It was fun to go under the sea to see all the creatures, Shelby loved the music and danced along as we rode around for the journey in the huge seashells. We caught the afternoon parade down main street and the kids were thrilled to see all the characters prance and dance down the lane.
We cruised deep into the caverns on Pirates of the Caribbean and Jett & Shelby had a blast on the water ride seeing the pirates in action but didn’t care for the down hill dips in the dark! Shelby took a snooze in the stroller so Jett and I went to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail together. He thought the rope bridges were so neat and his shoe even fell off down below and I had to rescue it! Luckily there was netting underneath it! We zipped down the slides too and I had to bribe him to get out of the forest fun! Mark Twain’s Riverboat was a ride everyone enjoyed. We stood up on the top level and journeyed around the river.
Jett loved the bubble gun dad bought him and it was an awesome way to keep kids busy during waiting in lines...
Toy Story Mania ride topped the list...one of the kids all-time classic movie! They both can name just bout every darn character in the flick and loved seeing them all come to life before their very eyes!
We had a blast jumping into the swiveling carnival car with our very own shooters! It was intense trying to aim and rack up the points against our opponents and they loved sporting the 3-D glasses too!
Sad but true It’s a Small World, Splash Mt, Grizzly River Run and Thunder Railroad were closed…sign now, maybe next time we go they’ll be up n running! All the shops were great, we liked the Lego store but...
the ultimate dream store was RIDEMAKERZ...Jett was in heaven there as he got to build his very own remote control Lightning McQueen! He sure did pimp his ride with a whole lotta bling bling and enjoyed every second of it! Good thing we saved that activity for the end of our fun-filled days there!

To end the trip our last night the Burnsides invited us over for dinner & dessert! It was so fun to hang out in their hometown and we all can’t wait till we get to go back to Cali again!
