Visits to the Childrens' Museum and Kids Zoo

Some of our best summer days ever were spent @ The Childrens' Museum and The Kids Zoo! Jett and Shelby LOVED to interact and be hands on with everything!
Jett enjoyed the airport where there were actual airplanes to play in
however he was thrilled by the Luggage Shuttle...
The kids couldn't pass up the train section and spent most
of their time playing with the choo-choos!
Shelby has followed Jett's footsteps and is obsessed with trains too...
she could spend hours playing with them and can't pass up @ Barnes & Noble too and always wants to play @ the train table there as well!
Now on to the ZOO! The kids had an awesome time! The train ride was a blast...
even Dad was ready to roll! It went through a dark tunnel which made the kids ecstatic!
Then on to the animals! Shelby was intrigued by the penguins,
or perhaps it was the bright green pool they had!
She would have jumped right in if we let her!
The giant peacock walked around down our path and the kids tried to catch it!
There was an awesome hands-on exhibit where the kids got to feel a furry bunny...
touch a squeaky mouse...
and pet a chirpin bird! They were fascinated by the creatures!
Jett knew just what to do and popped his head through every picture hole
however Shelby wasn't quite sure what she was suppose to do!
But Shelby knew what to do here for sure..her all-time-fav spot was feeding the goats! She wanted to give each one a hug, tickle, kiss you name it! She was flabbergasted how they would eat the food out of her little hands and enjoyed each moment of it!
The camels came next! Jett liked how he got their food out of a candy quarter machine
and rolled it down a tunnel to feed them!
This monkey was just drooling cause Aaron was eating a bag of chips and he wanted Aaron to share with him so bad! He followed him down the whole
fence eyeing his bag the whole time!
Jett enjoyed posing, here he is on a friendly bear kicking back...
then Shelby tried to be tall enough to be a creeping caterpillar
while Jett on the other side was a beautiful butterfly!
Kids couldn't pass up the flamingos! They are a little obsessed with them because
Grandma T has a ton of pink plastic ones in her backyard garden that they love!
Last but not least, the butterfly house! Kids were in heaven! It was so neat to see them fly all over and get to see them up so close in action! Shelby is fascinated whenever she sees one flying about outside so this was a perfect place for her! Jett was so proud that one landed on him and he was so excited to show it off to Shelby! You should been there to hear what he said...he acted like he was a natural and that the butterflies just liked him soooo much that one had to land on him to say HI! What a wonderful way to end our day @ the zoo!
